EDUCATION

Study in Poland where education really counts! Poland’s university traditions are among the oldest in Europe dating back to 1364.  Currently, the higher education system is evolving rapidly and Poland is among top countries in Europe (after the United Kingdom, Germany and France) in terms of the number of people studying at university. The total student population at over 400 university-level schools is almost 2 million. Polish universities offer over 200 first-rate fields of study as an integral part of the European Higher Education Area, where the level of tuition fees compares favorably with other EU countries.

Specific Programs and University Exchanges:

The Institute of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IPI PAN) offers the MBA program taught in English and in Polish (two individual tracks) with support from its Partner, the Woodbury School of Business at Utah Valley University (USA). This is a prestigious and rewarding postgraduate program for managers and those who inspire to become business leaders as well as people working in public administration and non-governmental organizations. The format of the MBA program allows for working and studying simultaneously.

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce provides the possibility to study medicine in English for international students.The Faculty of Medicine can pride itself on expertise in teaching and a highly-qualified research staff as well as on offering a good quality of accommodation around the University campus.

The American MD program is dedicated to university graduates from USA, Canada Colleges or Universities, those who have Bachelor of Science degree and have completed their pre-medical education (have at least 1200 hours of pre-med courses).

University exchange between University of Washington and Uniwersytet Jagiellonski.

Wymiana studentów i doktorantów pomiędzy Uniwersytetem Jagiellońskim a University of Washington.

Dziedziny współpracy obejmują wszystke dziedziny reprezentowane w uczelni partnerskiej, jednak z pewnymi ograniczeniami.

O wyjazdy mogą się ubiegać studenci i doktoranci UJ (undergraduate and graduate students), którzy w momencie starania się o wyjazd są na:

• II roku studiów I stopnia,
• I roku studiów II stopnia,
• II-IV roku jednolitych studiów magisterskich,
• I-III roku studiów III stopnia

dowolnego kierunku z ograniczeniami.

Roczny limit wymiany: 3 kwartały
(3 kwartały studiów = 1 rok akademicki w UJ)
Można brać pod uwagę tylko kwartał jesienny, zimowy i wiosenny. Wymiana nie dotyczy kwartału letniego.

Warunki finansowe:

UW:

• zwalnia z czesnego i innych opłat (uwaga: może jednak obciążyć studenta opłatami za kursy, które są płatne także dla studentów UoW i które nie są wliczone do kwoty czesnego – praca w laboratorium, badania terenowe, zajęcia studyjne).
• dostarcza informacji o zakwaterowaniu na terenie kampusu i poza nim oraz pomaga w znalezieniu mieszkania, ale nie jest za nie odpowiedzialny i nie gwarantuje jego znalezienia.

UJ:

• pokrywa koszty podróży najbardziej ekonomiczną trasą i klasą,
• pokrywa koszty wizy
• przyznaje jedną dietę dojazdową.
• zapewnia ubezpieczenie w Ergo Hestia Biznes & Podróz. Jeżeli uczelnia przyjmująca wymaga ubezpieczenia na miejscu, UJ nie pokrywa tych kosztów a polisa Ergo Hestia Biznes & Podróz jest wydawana dodatkowo.
• Studenci pokrywają wszelkie pozostałe koszty związane z wyjazdem i pobytem w Seattle.

* The Polish Home Foundation of Seattle zaoferowała zakwaterowanie przy rodzinach za obniżoną opłatą dla studentów z UJ przebywających w Seattle w ramach wymiany. Studenci najczęściej wynajmują mieszkania niezależnie.
